There was some really dense fog at Galveston bay( near Houston) that day. I only had my 50mm lens with me. Cropped for compostion. No gulls added or deleted....am sure that will create many different interesting versions :-) Feel free to play around.

40D. 50f1.8 at f/6.3. iso 320. 1/100.

Does the composition work? I kept the horizon at 1/3rd...should the pilings be at 1/3rd? I thought that made the horizon too centered.

Hey Kaustubh,
VG seperation on the pilings.....but for me this one is screaming pano......maybe even a tight pano (1/3 sky)....as the sky isn't doing anyting for me.....let's see what others chime in!

Hi Kaustubh, Agree with Roman that this was made for a pano. Also agree that 1/3rd of the image should be sky.I don't feel the mood of the image will be affected by these changes...

Thx guys. I will go back to the orig and see if I can do that. I had thought abt it but thought that would make the image too top heavy. But let me try again. You guys r usually right. I know I can count on you folks for all composition advice. Thx a bunch.

Here's an even-more-pano crop. not the same photo...but taken at the same time. had some more space below in this one. I have included more pilings in the crop. You guys prefer this one? thx in advance.

Hi, Actually I prefer your original cropped from the top...

Kaustubh,

I like big skies when they add to the image but it doesn't here. Pano cropped suggested the way to go and I agree with Dave, the OP cropped as a pano is the best bet.

I think the repost has too much forground, so another vote for the original cropped. It makes for a very interesting compo.
