Coyote

Captured this coyote at Crown Hill Park in Colorado. I live pretty close to this park, so it is always fun to see what kind of images I can get. Thanks for looking.

Hey Dan - Beautiful, cold blue image. I like the way you've composed its trail through the virgin snow and left an empty canvas for the critter to decide how to use. A real feeling of stark openess here makes this image unique. Well done.

Love the cold look with the low sun angle casting long blue shadows. Just enough warm light to brig out the colors of the coyote.

Lovely image. This is a matter of personal preference but I made a repost and used a tighter crop to reduce the BG and place the coyote so the tracks lead you into the image more (applying the rule of thirds). I felt they were lost a little with all the BG going on. Like I said it's a personal preference but with adding my two cents worth I also like how your image captures that alone in the wilderness feel.

Thanks for the comments and the crop suggestion. When I was photographing this coyote, I wanted to include more of the snow and the blue patterns in the image.

Like this a lot Dan, the eye contact, side lighting, the crisp & crunchy snow tracks, the pose and remoteness in the BG, all make for a splendid image.
