From the backyard feeder on a perch. Overcast skies, midday, no flash. Cloned out small piece of branch lower left.

Sharp, well exposed and nice perch/pose. It looks like a heavy magenta color cast. Also could probably use more room at the top.

I totally agree with Joel´s suggestions and, in a perfect world, no overlaping between the tail and the small branch in the perch would be great. Exposure is very good and the eye.... to die for ;)

Very nice! I found your photo of the Downy to be sharp and well composed. I agreed that there was an overtone of magenta, but I did not find it particularly distracting. I liked the eye contact, catchlight, and claw pose best.

Thanks for the feedback. Agree on the Magenta cast. Was doing it by numbers and used the white feathers, but they are not neutral.

Does this look more neutral?

I would prefer a bit more dof, the tail and the back of the head both are out of the focus depth. I like the branch parellel to the camera plane, like the detail in the feathers, the background is super, the magenta cast is distracting

Very nice!

Bill do not forget to tell us about the thinks that you like and do not like in the images :) (please see the "Great Shot" Reminder sticky at the top of the Avian Forum)

Looks very nice Jim but now I see a yellow cast. Love the sharpness of the eye and the smooth BG. The perch could be improved and some addition of moss or lichens would make it look more natural.
