Introducing the 'Sally Lightfoot Crab'.
Thought I might go for something bright and cheery after Christmas :)
This is another species that frequents the Galápagos island in abundance. Coming out at high tide to filter on what the sea brings in. Sadly the shot I wanted I couldn't get due to poor light :(, a crab on the rocks with the sea swirling around with a slow shutter speed to give the sea that 'liquid' look . So I had to plump for a straight heads on image. Legs & tripod in the water, trying avoid the waves and getting totally soaked.
They really are this colourful, I haven't PS it :D

Wonderful colors and detail on the crab. Might take some off the top if it was mine.

An alien debt collecting agent tapping the final warning out! Love the rich colour, the POV, the full frame. Since I like tight crops, if you roll the top down to the horizontal dark line in the BG above it eyes, it gives, IMO, a better visual impact , but this is my subjective feeling.

Hi Myer, what I meant was the colours are big & bold and that I hadn't created a 'painting by numbers' image. If that makes sense?:)

lovely tagline from ole Monty and the gang ;)
stunning crustacean - love the colours, they look natural too. I agree with Callie here, but I would only take about 1/3 of the dead space off the top.

What a remarkable looking creature, truly a wonder of nature.
How was the water, as bad as Brighton on a summers day?

Refreshing Ken, even in September, but not quite as cold as when Lisa & David took their dip.:D Remember?
Marc, Sabyasachi I wanted as much detail in the crab as possible, hence f/11, but was hoping that the black lava rock would just silhouette him with little detail.

One sweet image. A little off the top is a good idea , IMHO. Would love to have this on my hard drive.

Great detail and the colors really stand out in comparison with the dark rocks.
