Hi - welcome to the BPN family - lots of great people here, all willing to offer advice and help :)

Nikon P80 is a compact point and shoot camera, hence a quite small sensor with a large zoom is not going to give you the same sort of result as a DLSR.

The head on your little guy is angled AWAY from the camera (best results are with the head angled slightly towards the camera) The bird looks a little under exposed, and I would crop a little differently to get the little guy out of the centre of the frame.
Some selective sharpening on the bird only will also help. The background could also be desaturated a tad.

Sudhanshu - Nice improvement with the repost. For me one of the big challenges in using a P&S, even with the 18X or more lens, is the size of the sensor. That means that you are limited in the size of the crop that you can do assuming you want to use the images for more than just the web, so the only way to get the subject to fill a good portion of the image is to get closer. The kind of image that I am thinking of looks more like my repost.
