Just returned back from my Cody and Jackson Hole trip with Al and Fabs. Thanks to Al and Fabs for their wonderful company and many local photographers who provided me with excellent info on locations. A special thanks to a local rancher on North Fork road who allowed me to photograph mule deer on his property. It was a wonderful trip and I was able to cover red fox, big horn sheep, mule deer, elk and moose.

Here is one of the images from National Elk Refuge.

Happy new year to all and may the light be with you in 2010.

What sets this apart is the BG, it looks like a painting, magical!
Are the subjects a little too light, or are the flanks normally this colour, I only ask because I have never seen one.

What, no birds??? A loverly environmental portrait. Needs a bit of CW rotation as measured by the frame of the monitor :) I'd lose the black spec in front of the trees near the frame edge.

What focal length were you at?

Ken,

That is the natural color.

Thanks

Artie,

Birds were very skittish there. No luck with raptors.

You are right on that bit of CW rotation.

Shot at 200mm with 60% of full frame crop.

Lovely presentation Sid. Love your placement and the use of habitat. Adds so much more. Best for 2010.
