Since the Cane Toad (Bufo marinus) infestation started here some 2 years ago the number of raptors in the area has dropped right off. This was the last sitting of these beautiful Brown Falcons.

C and C more than welcome.

Neat bird. I might lighten up the image and crop a little off of the right side. Sad to hear that cane toads are still causing so much trouble, I'm working on my time machine...

Love the fanned tail and you did well with d-o-f considering the quite steep angle to the bird and the over the back post.

I would surely crop this to a SQ from below.

I like the look-back pose and fanned tail and wish only for a lower angle. Would backing up have been an option?

What is the connection between toads and raptors? Do the toads decimate the number of rodents?

Thanks Axel.

The Cane Toad was introduce into Australia in 1935 to control Scarab Beetles. a pest to our sugar cane indusrty. They have poisonus glands.

I like the fanned tail and the skinny perch. The colors are a bit anemic, but nothing that curves and selective color can't fix.
(I'm not recommending this crop. Just did it to save space for posting.)
