Another shot from Lake Mattamuskeet. 40D, Bigma @500mm, f/8.0, 1/400, 250 iso. RAW conversion in ACR, selective sharpening in PS.

I like the simplicity of this shot of the lovely swan, Bob. It does look a little overexposed on the whites; might get a little detail back by lowering the highlights on the bird. I like the wingspread, the ascending position, and the lovely sky with soft clouds.

Hi Bob - agree with Anita - some of the whites are getting into the upper limits. Looks like you were at +1EV might have backed it down just a tad to protect those whites.
The simple composition works well for me.

Hi Bob,
I like the captured flight angle. Agree on the whites being hot and lacking some details...perhaps a -0.7EV or a -1.0EV would have taken care of it...when doing birds in flight, its just a matter of practice, practice, and practice...:) Looking forward to your next one Sir...:cool:
