Hi Michael,
Nice feather detail and great complimentary BG. Nice and clean as one usually gets a ton on small branches in the way with these guys. I am finding that the colors look a bit cool on my monitor however, it could be calibration problems on my end.

I hope you don't mind. I edited the photo the way that I would if it were one of mine. Warmed it up a bit, added some contrast, and ran the BG through Topaz Denoise (super smooth preset).

Take care,

Steve

Great eye and beak detail brings strong focus to the bird. Nice balance, exposure and composition. Only thing I would like to see different is a softening of the two light branch lines behind the head. Interesting grip that the two sets of talons have on the branch.

WOW, great image. Beautiful bird, great pose and perch. Maybe halfway between the original and re-post.

Thank you Peter I am very happy with this shot. My group and I found the owl east of Ajax, it was more than happy to pose for us. It started to snow shortly afterwards.
We went back an hour latter and she was sitting on another clean perch. :)
