I love it, Marko! The composition, the action, the wing position, the lighting, and the super low angle. Good aperture selection at f/7.1 to make sure you had enough DOF to work with your active subject.

Great angle, pose, BG and light. There is a slight sharpening halo around the legs but that is easy to fix.

Sweet, sweet, sweet. I love it. The light, the raised wings, the sharpness. What sharpening halos? Them guys must use electron microscopes. I look and look and see nothing but a beautiful image. The face looks a bit funky...

later and love, artie

I agree with Artie; I can't see a halo. But my monitor has a native resolution of 2560x1600. Love your photo!

Hi Marko!

Excellent moment, and a very beautiful image. I really enjoy it!

I am also working hard on reducing these mysterious halo ... that I have a hard time seeing. I am on on a slightly higher than norm res of 1920x1200, and maybe that is part of my problem, and where to go to solve it(?)

Not taking away anything from this incredible image (I've left my remarks above)... but I don't want anyone to think Axel and Al are just making things up. I've attached a zoom-in of the mentioned sharpening halos ;) I'm working at a resolution of 1440x900 so it's a little easier to see.

Hi Marko,

I guess you spelled your name wrong as this hot is not "matestic" but...."Majestic!!"
Love everything about this! Especially the low angle and action going on!
Well done!!

Greetings,

Jeroen Stel

What an exciting photograph! The light is to die for and both wings are picking it up. It's sharp where it needs to be and I really like the composition. Bravo!

Hi Blake!

This is a great illustration, and I can see clearly what you are referring to. I myself have never doubted (esp. Axel & you & others ...) any of the comments/suggestion given here, and I have made many, many changes in my processing in attempt to constantly improve with each post. It is greatly appreciated that everybody here has helped tremendously, to open up my eyes to critically look at more things, and more carefully.

I don't want to take the topic away from this beautiful image ... but sometimes I believe some of these "sharpening halos" may be related to the JPEG compression artifacts. Do you advise re-processing the reduced 800 JPEG images to work on these areas? I will give it try next time, but it would seem to be degrading the image by generating yet another JPEG compression. Thank you for the great illustration and all the help & suggestions.
