There was no sunrise, just the overcase became lighter. So I tried to make the best of the situation and came out with my favorite Mono Lake image. I saturated it, burned in the faint horizon and cloned out some rocks on the right side. It prints out fantastic at 16x24, but I will make a copy at 24x36 or larger to hang on my wall. I really like this one. Ijust printed this in a B&W conversion and it rocks ( excuse the pun)

I don't know how to make it better, if you could. A very nice serene setting. Well done to me. I like those saturated colors and the reflection adds to it.

I like how the horizon is nearly indescernible. You made good use of the negative space in this one, well done, you should be happy with it.

This is one of the finest and most unique images I've seen from Mono Lake!

Steve,

Excellent vision seeing this possibility. Definitely unlike most images I see from Mono Lake. Well done.

Beautiful! The larger island could stand on it's own, but the splash of color from the trunk on the left is a nice balance.

Excellent image Steve. You might even try not burning the horizon to make the foreground-background transition seamless. Easy to see why this would look good big.

Wow, there has been some great stuff posted here lately and this is one of them. See above to learn why I like this one so much... Later and love,

Lovely indeed, these kinds of images really appeal to me. I wish the sharpening halos were not so visible, but maybe on the larger image, they aren't....I like the just barely visible horizon.
