Great expression and I love that the bokeh background still shows enough to get a sense of the natural setting!

Hi Jackie - cool - love those eye's.
Looks a tad flat to me - set a black and white point, adjusted the mid tones a little, added some additional sharpening.
How does this look??

It was a very foggy day and I like the OP, and I already added some contrast. I am still having trouble with sharpening, but I thought it needed some. Thanks for your comments Lance.

The diagonal tree in the background re-enforces the angle of the perched bird's head and intersects the perch. Matching textures in the owl & the tree unite the composition. Very nicely lit too.

Ahh if it was foggy - I would prefer the OP too :)

Jackie, I love your capture of his owl. Glad you mentioned the fog... A wee bit of sharpening and you've got a real wall hanger!! Congrats...

I added a little more sharpening I hope this looks better. Thanks for the comments everyone, these guys were a joy to photograph. We found about five in the woods yesterday.
