These lovely lorikeets are not all that common in Sydney, more frequently north of Sydney. I was waiting patiently waiting on a pair of Chestnut-rumped Heathwrens, when this bird alighted on an adjacent Banksia.

Good-looking specimen, I like the composition, angle and look-back pose. The BG is a bit noisy and the foliage behind the bird competes a bit with the subject.

Very nice Nevil. Excellent details and pose. I don't mind the perch and background Banksia.

Composition works for me Nevil. Less overlaping or no overlping between the leaves and the bird would be great. There is a lack of details in the bird due to croping and a lots of jpeg artifacts in the tail, rump and secondaries. I think that a wider croping would improve the quality of the image.

Nice one Nevil - I like the perch ( has character) and the bird stands out really well.

cheers
