Even when the flamingo is preening, she keeps an eye on me!

Hi Rosl
I like how you captured the eye peeking between the feathers. Beautiful colors and nice detail and color. I did a little different crop.....see if you like it.....I was trying to get that eye more in the corner.

The tough situation here is DOF, the plumage in front of that eye is oof as expected due to dof limitations.

I like this. I think since the eye is the main point of interest, the oof plumage does well by not distracting from the eye itself.
I'm wondering how much impact might be added by processing the eye with a little saturation boost and or darkening the rest of the image other than the eye just a little.

As presented it has a kind of intimate, peering into her world feeling which I like a lot. The crop adds to that even more.

I like this alot - either comp. Nice colors, unusual pose, eye nicely visible and sharp. I don't feel that the OOF foreground feathers are out of focus enough to detract at all.

Hi Rosl,

I like this one. I think the focus being near the eye draws your eye where it should go and overcomes any DOF issues. I like Lana's crop too.

I like Lana's crop a lot. Really puts the focus on the eye. The background was pulling my attention some so how about this as an idea.

I'm a big fan of a dark BG, but I think I'm also in the minority on that.
