A chickadee from a while back. I can't remember if the blue background was from some thin clouds or the white balance effect of some shaded snow. A bit unconventional for a background colour. Sometimes I like it - sometimes not.

I like the cool blue background and HA. Nice eye contact! Might be the screen on my laptop, but the shot could use a little boost in contrast. I'd also like to see more room on top/left and less of the perch below. It's the overall mood and eye contact that makes this photo happen for me.

Maybe a portrait crop with this one? I feel there's a lot of empty/unnecessary space to the right of the image. Like you I find the bg pleasing one day and maybe not the next...depends on the mood you're in I guess.

Another vote for a portrait crop. Like the pose, exposure & BG.

Good color, exposure and I like the eye highlight. I agree that a crop of the right to make it a vertical would make it even better.
