Jamie wellcome on board. The light in this portrait is a bit strong producing a high contrast between highlights and shadows affecting the dynamic range. A touch of fill flash would help a lot to reduce the strong contrast. I like the classical pose of the eagle and the open beak. BG is very nice in color and aout of focus. Great details and sharpness. Composition is a bit tight for me. Keep them coming :)

I like the open beak, sharpness, eye contact and BG. I agree that the light is a bit harsh and I would give it more room top and right. Keep them coming!

Ditto light a bit harsh & crop a tad tight. Like the open beak & head angle.:)

Given what appears to have been a tight crop to begin with, I'd try cropping it right where the white head feathers begin.

Thanks for the comments folks. I'll go back to the RAW file and see what additional space I had before I made the crop. Merry Christmas.
