Here is something you do not see everyday, at least not me, this was a first. Depending on who you believe they are natural or were "developed" by selective breeding for hunting there is apparently a white one as well.

The quality is not too good but it was standing in the shade a fairly long way away.

Taken in Makola National Park, Northern Cape, South Africa, 14th December 2009

EOS 1D MkIII

500mm F4 IS hand-held

F6.3, 1/320, ISO 400, EV +1.33

+2 here. Many thanks for sharing Ken. Quite like this image as the details in the bg add a nice element. Best for Xmas to you and your loved ones.

Hi Ken You did great with the animal in the shade !!! Good balance exposure for best overall capture !!!

I like the pose and how you got the head clear of the trees in bg !!

Thanks for your comments, have a great holiday period.

I wish everybody great game viewing in 2010 , and hopefully some good captures, and I do not mean the World Cup!

Always good to see something new and a first for me as well. Nicely managed Ken, good pose & exp for the shaded conditions.
