Hi Danny, Really nice color and light on the hopper and I like the contrast between the yellow hopper and the burnt tree bark. My only suggestion would be to maybe crop some of the tree bark it is a little dominate in the frame to my eye, maybe off the bottom or off the bottom and side.

I have to agree with Don - my eye really does go to that dark, blurry tree. Excellent details on the hopper, though. I'd cut as much as I could of the tree out of the photo even if that means a close, square crop.

Hi Danny, wonderful critter! The color contrast is great, details are excellent. I think the image could do with a tighter crop. Not only for the reasons mentioned above, but I also feel there's a lot of empty space above the hopper. Would try to get the head or eye on the UR ROT hotspot. You'll have one of the antennae nicely pointing in the UR corner!

You did a wonderful job with the 70- 200 f/2.8. I like the magnicient color on the grasshopper. Tough light to work with. Tree bark is difficult at times to handle IMO.

Thanks Charlie. Not sure why I used that lens. I always use the 300 F4 for close-ups. That 70 - 200 sure is great for people and pets though.
