Hi Anita - love these guys - have done well with the harsh light.
Think I would have gone with a vertical crop - Guessing you have gone horizontal as it already is a big crop. Bit too much negative space on the RHS - for my personal tastes.
Looking forward to seeing more :)

Really cute eye these owl has, love how half of the owl body is covered inside the hole, this made it looked like the owl is peep out to look at something. Would like to see how vertical crop will look like too.

Hi Anita,
I like this little guy looking up, I like the color rendition and the details...I don.t have a problem with the horizontal framing, but you might consider taking just a tad off from the right hand side. In addition you might consider in toning down the whites and perhaps give it a mild contrast boost...looking forward to your next one...

Hi Anita..... The owl looks a bit lost in the frame. Not sure about the vertical, but cutting a bit from the right would help. Love these images..... Richard

Hi Anita I think the main point here is the large crop, does reduce image quality !! Those birds are easily approachable and can crawl right up to them, getting within minimum focusing distance of your 500 is no problem. Just go slow and stop if they show any sign of stress !!
