I was hiking in the Grand Canyon a couple of weeks ago when I came across this rock that looked to me to be a dogs face, hence the name. I don't know what it's real name is or even if it has one. Maybe it was the Prickly Pear Martinis, but do you see it? ISO 200, f/22, 1/125 sec, -0.67 EV, ET24-70mm f/2.8K USM, 70mm, Evaluative Metering, Auto Exposure, Auto WB, No Flash. Image was cropped from larger landscape I was photographing, that's why I was using the high F stop. Comments Welcome...

It does look like a dog face to me, very nice finding, good eye. I like the different in color between the foreground rock and the background one, help bring out the dog face more. Also like the small brown texture rock on the dog face, they look like fur :) Seem like a high DR scene, maybe a HDR image might be nice.

Neat looking rock Richard !!!

HDR might not be bad idea, wondering how it would look with detail in the shadows, now it sort of sets up the dog look ... btw what are the lavender color things at the top !!

Good eye, Richard, it does look like a dog face, and the darker background sets it off nicely. I too would like to see how it would look in HDR. How about a very small CW rotation?

Al=If I am not mistaken that lavender things is the Grand Canyon. He is shooting and in the background is the BIG HOLE of the Grand Canyon with all of it glorious colors.......I THINK.

I only had one image so I processed it with Lucis Pro which creates an HDR look. It definately brought out the shadow detail.....

Hmmmm.... the HDR really brought out the surface and black details, but loose the stand out of the dog face against the background. But anyway, I like both version very much.
