These guys usually keep the area around their burrows pretty clear of vegetation so I was happy to get this one with some summertime growth. Thunderclouds were building and periodically blocking out the sun. I liked the raised tail and the line of flowers in the BG above his head. 40D, 400DO, f9, 1/320s, ISO 400, +1/3 EC, slight crop from bottom and left.

Cuteness over the top Steve !!!!! Exposure dead on, like the placement in frame and love the setting !!! Big Congrats !!!

Hey Steve - Your prairie dog shots are always dead on and this is no exception. I love that flower line in the background too - it adds to the comp. The fur detail on the dog is exceptional as well. You also captured the fractures in the burrow mound very nicely. Well done.
