These birds are seen in our area by the hundreds and many times are over looked for their partner who is so beautiful with the vibrant red on his wings and the jet black feathers on the rest of his body. He is beautiful but the little female has a beauty all of her own in a much more subdued way.

Most people don't give this bird the time of day but I find in the right light they are lovely..and you certainly have wonderful light in this image...like the vertical crop, head turn..thanks

This looks very good, great pose, perch, BG and eye contact. I would only tone down the buds.

Hi Judy, I really like this image. I find the composition to be very pleasing. Placement of the bird in frame, the perch, and the inclusion of the out-of-focused background elements all make for a very good image in my opinion. I agree with Axel that toning down the light buds might be worth evaluating. Thanks for sharing.

Judy....you said it right. The feamle does get ignored. The OOF foliage is balancing the frame very well. Well seen and well composed. Thx for sharing.
