“Night Stalker”

Note:
This image was converted to monochrome and the bars from the cage were eliminated in post processing, to simulate the young lady’s natural environment, thus creating visual impact. It was also under exposed to simulate nighttime.

This magnificent cat is a resident of The Bronx Zoo, in New York. She was painted with a Nikon D300s, using a Nikkor 300mm f/2.8G IF-ED lens, with a Nikkor 1.4 T/C.

Image Solution:
focal length @ 420mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera spot metering / 1/400 sec - f/5.6 /exposure comp @ -1.0EV / ISO @ 640 / white balance @ auto / AF - Mode @ manual / color space @ monochrome / lighting solution – ambient light / tone comp @ 1 degree / hue adjustment @ 1 degree / saturation factor @ 1 degree / support platform – monopod.

Comments greatly appreciated...

Wow, Gus, outstanding!! Even more so for being taken through bars at a zoo! Love the lighting and the B&W. Just exceptional, IMO.

It's a wonderful image and I have no ideas where the bars were - but I agree with harshad's comment about cages.

Nonetheless, you've made a great picture and I think no one would have known there was a cage if you hadn't told us.

Thank you.
