photographing these large grey subjects is always difficult, its ok if they are in the distance , but close up I always seem to struggle and can be very frustrating ... so tried to do something different and isolate different body parts ...
small crop , wished i had more room at bottom but not to be...

Nailed your own critique, but otherwise sublime. Love the conversion, details and light on this Peter. Good shot Sir!

Great idea isolating body parts !!! B&W treatment sure works for the elephants !! These images allow endless tweaks, might increase congrats a bit !!! I like it a lot !!!

Apart from your own self-critique, this really works in B&W, well done Peter. The detail in the skin & hair plus the lighting are first rate.

Hi Peter,
A few days back, I was working on a similar idea on elephant foot. :D Will share when I could get a little bit of time to convert. As you have mentioned, a bit of room at the bottom would have been good. I like the background. The black and white conversion has helped.
Cheers,

Fantastic idea, needing only, as mentioned, a bit of more room at bottom. Good conversion too.
