“Which Way ”

Mr. Hawk was watching the wind and his surroundings to see which way he was going to fly. He is a local at Wakodahatchee Wetlands located in West Palm Beach Florida. He was painted with a Nikon D200, using a Nikkor AF-S 300mm f/4D - IF-ED , with a Nikkor 1.7 T/C.

Image solution:
focal length @ 510mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera matrix metering / ISO @ 640 / 1/500sec. - f/7 / white balance @ auto / AF - mode @ dynamic range, auto - continuous / color space @ sRGB /lighting solution - no speedlight, ambient light / exposure comp @ +0.7EV / tone comp @ 1 degree / hue adjustment @ 2 degrees / saturation factor @ 2 degrees / support platform - no tripod, hand held /

Comments greatly appreciated...

Nice pose, nice bg (colors go very well together) and interesting perch. And an amazingly steady hand at 510mm.

Hi Gus,

Great close-up with good details and I love the eye contact! On my monitor I can see a small halo around the beak otherwise the hawk looks great on this background!!

Lovely hawk image, Gus!! Color palette, details, and pose are great. I see a little halo around the right wing area as well.
