This foraging SHC was photographed @ sunset. Despite what many may think, the SAT was barely boosted...WB @ 5000. The clouds lit up from the sunset and reflected onto the pond as though it were on fire. It was an evening to remember!

Canon 40D, Canon 400 DO

Gitzo Tripod, Mongoose Head

C & C always welcomed and appreciated.

Wonderful job, Marina, and good timing in getting that big splash. The bright orange really compliments the silhouette and mood of the image. The unusual water ripples in the bg remind me of tree rings.

Lovely image Marina! Beautiful colours, the vertical presentation works really well for my taste. I think that cropping a bit off the top will make this even stronger as it will lead the eye to the bird more easily - but this is really just my personal taste. Pleased to see you managed to get such beautiful and natural colours without any digital manipulations - very well done!

Gorgeous. The colors are amazing. I really like the comp but I might try to crop a little off the top and bottom to reduce a little of the negative space. Keep the reflected image closer to the bottom edge though. Terrific shot and certainly make me wish that I were there to see those awesome colors.

REally fine, Marina. Love the little splash--the angle and of course the colors. Well done!

A real beauty! I would take a bit of the top as well but is beautiful as presented.

Beautiful image! I like the water action frozen. Seems to me like the image could be a little brighter and a little more punch with a S-curve in curves tool. Very nice.

Great composition and action. The splash and circles add a lot to the image. I'd be tempted to desat it a bit, as you are strongly blowing the red channel. However, you may not need much detail where the red is blown as it's mostly water surface.

Hi Marina. Not much to add here. Love the colors, the pose, and the action captured. You might experiment with the crop as suggested above, but that is largely a matter of personal taste, IMO. Well done.

Glad to hear that this is not heavily Photoshoped.

Nice crop and composition. The warm colors makes this one for me.

Wonderful image Marina!!! :) I love the colors and for me the crop is perfectly balanced. But what would I know? ;) I'd say this has major cover shot potential.
