Restless Flycatcher (Myiagra inquieta) Bowra Station SW QLD
Canon EOS 40D Lens 100-400mm L IS USM at 400mm ISO 400 F7.1 1/1600 fill flash 8 August 2009

A pair of Restless Flycatchers were flitting over the lagoon at Bowra chasing insects, hovering then perching on any available stick near the hide that I had erected and was having a great time taking anything that came to drink. A very entertaining episode that will stay with me for time to come. The Restless Flycatcher provided an opportunity to observe it for an extended period of time.
Thanks for viewing

Nice one Rod - like the head turn and glass in the plumage. i reckon I might have seen that bird on the same sticks about 2 months earlier.

cheers

Good-looking bird, nice eye contact and sharpness. I would tone down the perch and am not so sure about the OOF branches in the lower right. If it were mine, I might remove the specular highlight on the beak.

Nice posture, lovely background! I would consider removing the OOF branches in the bottom right, and the highlight on the tip of the bill?

Nice head turn. Love the blue on the crest. Studio-like BG. I only wish I could see the whole back and tail.
