Michael,

I played around with local contrast enhancement (USM on a BG copy) to cut through some of the haze, increase detail in the canyon but retain the depth of the image due to the atmospheric affects. Shadows/Highlights on just the FG ridge to brighten it up - to increase 3D depth in the image from FG to BG. Then reverse s-curve to lower overall contrast.

Classic image done right.

Hi Michael, Nicely framed and with Robert's repost opening up the fore and middlegrounds detail. Might have added an extra stop to the GND or tried an HDR on this. Pertaining to the sky I'm leaning towards the original exposure...

this is a sublime scene - as you mentioned, the hand of God at work :)

I agree with Dave, and think Robert's foreground tweaks with your original sky might work best here - maybe try that HDR (you are brilliant at it). :)

I prefer your processing Michael. Well handled for such a big dynamic range. As said earlier, love the layers on the horizon.

Michael, I like the original better. The LLC in the re post is a bit harsh. Perhaps just a tad more detail in the shadows of the far ridges would enhance things a bit, but I still like the original
