Nice pose. There are a few white spots on the perch that you could remove if you are so inclined.

Hi Adam, I like it. The bird is sharp with good details with a good head angle. I like the diagonal that the perch introduced to the image. The plain background with the slight color gradient shows the bird nicely. For my personal taste I find there is a little too much negative space on our right. Another option would be to crop closer to where the perch enters the frame. Not necessarily better just different. Thanks for sharing.

I am fine with the BKGR, the SH, the COMP, and the EXP. I would definitely lose the little twig on the branch right behind the bird and possibly some of the others. Is that a tic or some sore of parasite just in front of the eye???

Hi Artie,
I went back to the raw file to take a closer look. It is not any parasite, just some dark feathers.

Thanks Adams. I got fooled by the roundness.... If you have a chance, I would love to know if others of this species show the same thing.

I have a few more images of females and they all have the same thing. Some are darker than others.

So nice hummer! Love the composition here and the killer BG. Details on plumage are great.
