Termites

This was taken in the cool of the morning when the termites were extending their mound. They had re-sealed it an hour later.

Interesting patterens here Tony - A closer view showing up more detail of the termites would aslo make for an interesting composition. I photographed numerous termite mounds when travelling through the NT and northern WA but never came across the termites themselves!!

Very interesting, it is almost an abstract design with all the shapes and textures. I really like how the termits come into focus and as you realize what you are really looking at.

Thanks for the comments, it was a rushed job, hence it was handheld and the built in flash was used. I do have a closer view but it loses it's appeal and becomes just a lot of termites with no pattern.
