Jan, loved the sharp male and the BG. I think photo with just the male will look better. But having said that, I dont mind this one with OOF female either. Nice job with the exposure. Colors of the bird echoed in the BG always works for me.

Certainly agree, on all counts. A lovely capture that I would make 2 frames of... with and without the female.

Really nice image Jan, I like the OOF bird too a lot, it is by no way distracting and adds a lot to the composition. Both birds with excellent eye contact and almost with exactly the same wing position. Great Bg by the way. :-)
