One of the two families residing in Crandon Gardens. They are not captive but choose to fly in and out an breed there each year. A couple of years ago National Geographic documented the whole event. I didn't use any noise reduction, I see now that the BG can use some.

Model: Canon EOS-1D Mark III
Lens (mm): 400
ISO: 800
Aperture: 5.6
Shutter: 1/500

Thanks for your comments :)

I like the soft light, BG and the pose really makes you wonder what he is looking at. I might raise the color temperature a tad.

Hi Fabs, I like the composition with the bird emerging from the corner. The sharpness and exposure look great. I also like the background (nice colors). Thanks for sharing.

Love the pose and bg. Detail is great as well. Might lighten up the eye a bit.

I love the details in the plumage. Agree with you about NR. I also like that I feel a connection with the bird even though it's not looking right at the camera.

Love the detail and hairline. BG color compliments the bird's color.
