nice looks, shame about the tails getting cropped.
Not sure the composition works horizontally, vertical would be preferred in this instance.
Keep em coming!
Re-post is much better : )

Welcome to BPN, Julien! Very nice first post. Great to see both male and female birds and their alert poses. I might give it a bit more room at the top or even go for a vertical crop. The whites and legs could go a bit darker for my taste. Keep them coming!

Julien: Above comments notwithstanding, getting male and female, front and back in a single shot is a great feat IMHO. The horizontal comp doesn't bother me as much as the broken branch stub, but it's still a great shot. Well done!

Big welcome to BPN, Julien, very nice first post. You have great depeth of field for 5.6, most probably because the two heads are on the same plane, otherwise you would need a much smaller aperture to render them both reasonably sharp.
I agree with the previous comments.

Welcome to BPN. Great 1st post. 2 for the price of one. Nice image with good detail. Might vote for a vert. comp.

This is a really neat image and a unique opportunity to get both sides. I like the horizontal composition and the broken branch doesn't bother me. Perhaps tone down the legs on the bird on the left.

I like seeing both M/F in the image together!
I noticed that the bird on our left has a really full crop. Were these birds just fed?

Nice image and is incredibly sharp even though both birds seem to be different focal planes.
