Taken from a hide on the edge of a waterhole at Bowra in south west Queensland

ISO 400 f8 1/400 Sun had just disappeared below the horizon

Missed this little guy- beautiful image, love the colours, feather details and the whites. Low angle does it justice. Thanks for sharing!

I have never seen a better image of this species.
Very cool low angle and details despite decreasing lights.
Do you have any sunny image from the series? When the image was taken (month).

Hey Rob! Nice to see you posting over here as well! Love this image. The Plover's eye really pops and the low angle is terrific! Nice colors as well!

Rob: What a lovely bird! I'd love to see one someday. HA, detail, comp and exposure all look great. Were it mine I might have been tempted to crop or clone out a bit of the blurries at the bottom, but that doesn't detract from a very handsome image. Well done.
