Suzanne, beautiful pose, feather details, exposure & BG. Wish for more separation between the eye and surrounding feathers, but I do not know how to achieve that:). Well captured.

Nice wigeon shot Suzanne. All of the colors are well-handled and a great landing shot. I love the carmel color on the side of the wigeon.

Suzanne:

Another nice one, sharp, well exposed, good pose.

Might give it a bit more room all the way around, but very nice as posted.

Nice detailed shot Suzanne. I would add a little more room on the top and front of the image.

Wow... (oh erm... I guess that's like saying Great shot! huh. ;))

Wonderfully bright and sharp without any hint of blowing the exposure. Great feather details and pose.

Really well captured,

Kenn

Lovely light, excellent timing, and great exposure. I am surprised no one mentioned the HA. Ideally the head would be tilted toward us a bit more.

Looking forward to more!

Thank you for your comments Guys and Betsie ,just went back to the original and I guess I made a mistake on my PP Details about the cropping
Turns out this image is actually full frame no crop done ,but I hear the message on too tight cropping it is often hard to know when its enough or not enough cropping of an image
thanks for the feedback much appreciated

As above plus with the bird angling away the head turn towards you is a huge plus. I will grant Bestie's request in a minute....

Any better around the eye or did I over-do it?

Beautiful light and detail Suzanne... a little more room might be nice, but it's great to see all the detail with the wigeon filling so much of the frame. Nice job.

Super capture Suzanne. super feather detail and colour. Arthur's repost does improve the eye. Pity about the angle away from you.

:) and YAW.

Eye Doctor techniques as described in Digital Basics. QM of the pupil and darken. QM of the iris and lighten. QM of the dark feathers around the eye and lighten.

The basics of QMing my be found in Digital Basics (https://store.birdsasart.com/shop/category.aspx?catid=32), advanced techniques can be found in Robert O'Toole's APTATS I and APTATS II (coming soon): https://store.birdsasart.com/shop/category.aspx?catid=33.

Total time: about two minutes in all.

ps: I should have lightened it a bit overall as well.
