Jan - merely getting a leopard in Kruger close enough for a shot like this with a 70-200mm lens is an amazing achievement...

looks a little soft and some sharpening would make this rock. lovely light and composition

One lovely pose for sure , but as you have removed OP , cant say what you have done , Can you post original image once again? It is always better to repost improvement by keeping OP :)

Hi Jan,
Lovely sighting of an shy animal. I love the pose. The tail takes away the attention from the eyes a bit, but we can't help it. The first post is the sharper than the repost. Is this a big crop? I would prefer more space at the left. Look forward to more images. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
Sabyasachi

Hi Jan for me the original post is much better in many ways and the pose is really good, purely because 'it's different'! However, I would like to raise a few points if I may.

1. At what time of day was it shot, it looks very early, but I feel there could be more colour within the image as it looks a little flat
2. As posed earlier, is this a cropped image or/and was a high ISO used, as I think it looks quite noisy in parts and there are some artifacts around the branches?
3. If there is a little more room on the l/h I would be tempted to crop a little off the top and convert to more of a landscape crop, although I never feel a square crop does justice to an image, but this is only me :-)

Well spotted and captured, Jan. I love the pose, peeking round the tree trunk, beautiful catchlights in the eyes and of course the tail. Thanks for sharing this one- leopard shots are always special.

Love the way the leopard is curled around the tree and the light is just hitting him in the face and the eyes.

Great composition and lighting Jan. however I think your reposted image is now your first image?
If that is the case you would have best to just selectively sharpen the Leopard only, fine image nonetheless.

A leopard from such close quarters is always special, Jan, and I love the way it's tail is curled around the branch.
