Shot this morning at a local sanctuary laying on the ground and shooting through a fence.

50D, f/8, ISO 320, 400m on a EF 100-400, 1/2000.

Thanks for looking and commenting. Have a great rest of the weekend.

this is some good stuff here!! love the water and the exposure looks perfect to me. does seem to need a little CW rotation. if you are so inclined, you could clone out one of the double catchlights in the eye and maybe clone some texture into the specular highlights. very well done. there's even detail in the whites. nice!!

Gary:

Harold hit the important points, re: rotation, exposure, extra catchlight.

Very nice result shooting through that heavy gauge fencing material.

That shooting angle does really add to the feel here.

Exposure techs look good, I like the f/8.0 and 320 ISO on the 100-400L, good thinking. I agree with harold on evicting the extra catch light . The capture angle takes this over the top - well done.

Another species with many different displays during courtship.

I like your head-on angle, Gary and as already noted, good exposure and low perspecitve.

Good advices give by Harold, and I might consider sharpen the eye a tiny bit more. Love the HA, the feather details, the color and the low angle surely pay off.
