Not macro in the true sense, but something I do when the avian action peters out is to take photographs of these little ones. Taken at Mankwe hide in the Pilanesberg National Park.

Beautiful image, Gerrie! Oh how much better it would be if her face was towards us but you did a good job on the DOF and still maintaining a sweet BG.

If you look in the educational forum, Fabs Forns did a wonderful tutorial on shooting these insects in segments and then putting them all together on one frame so the insect is in focus from head to toe.

Amazing color here, Gerrie, that I haven't seen on a dragonfly yet -- hot pink almost! I like the way the wings are over to one side, and both in focus.

Looks a bit like our male Roseata Skimmer's, would love to see some more images if you have them especially views that show the head.

Agree with the others regarding the head. I love how you placed the DF in the frame. Great diagonal lines form the body and wings. I see a lot of noise on the OOF tail. Maybe use lower ISO next time?

Excellent detail in the wings. Love the color and the background is terrific. Better angle would have been super!
