This is another Finca Oro, Costa Rica shot from 2008. This is the female who is around a lot more than the male. The feeder is nearby and the branch is a natural plant so I don't this would qualify as a set-up. There are 14 different species around the house. Some branches in the lower left have been removed. This is a crop from a horizontal shot. All C&C are welcome. Hope you enjoy the image.

The bird looks great Jim. Very sharp, nice iridescence, and a beautiful BG. The perch looks a little funny, kind of like a Gaussian blur was run on the main branch. I like the placement of the bird in the frame too.

Thanks for the comment Doug. The branch in the original is fuzzy but after some processing it appears more fuzzy. I took out some distant leaves and that may have compounded the problem. Here is the image with the leaves left in. Any feedback is appreciated.

I like the pose, eye contact and sharpness. The BG in the original post looks good, the OOF part of the perch is a bit distracting but I don't think there is much you could do about it.

Beauty. Great detail and a nice pose. Perch doesn't bother me.

Very nice Jim, I prefer the first post personally, too bad about the little branch hiding the bird's right claw (left looking at it) but other than that not much to say except exceptional shot lovely bg.

The bird is so beautiful. I didn't notice the perch until it was mentioned!
Love the green on green. Regarding the perch, possibly you could manyually put a harder edge on it to make it less distracting.

Like your PP work in the OP. Well done Jim! :) I love this hummer, those greens just make me melt. Congrats mate. Nothing wrong with perch IMHO, like you said it ain't no set-up!

This is a great image. The elimination of the distracting bright BG leaves is good, however, it did leave a bit of a halo around the bird itself.
