OK, last one. this one is a little different in that it has three distinct layers to my eye with the beach, water and sky. i tried this composition with the foot prints. wondering if it works. do the foot prints walk you into or out of the image? or are they even distinctive enough to figure out if they are foot prints?

Hi Harold, Another nice rendition. My personal taste would be to exclude the footprints...The pier as a leading line is so strong more LL aren't necessary. I could immediately tell they were footprints.

Harold,

I would vote for no footprints. They lessen the overall impact of the scene.

Hi Harold, I think that Dave hits the nail on the head regarding the leading line in the composition. The first thing that came to mind when I saw this image was "great image, too bad for those footprints in the sand".
Wonderful colors, wish I could see a little more of those gorgeous skies (like the image you posted earlier from the other side of the pier). I also like the dreamy feel of the water caused by the motion blur of the waves.
