Hi Tom. I like the B&W conversion and when I blew it up noticed a sepia colored middle ground which I though was original. The clouds are very dramatic and are the strongest element. I cropped out portions of the bottom and from the left and right side to accentuate the mountains in the distance. The 2 hills on each side of the snow covered distant mountains help to frame them...

i agree with dave's crop suggestion. maybe not quite as much. i really like the cloud movement. they lead you right into the scene.

Well done depicting this moody scene Tom. I would agree with the cropping from the bottom as it strengthens the clouds and balances the image's spaces (dark FG, bright middle ground and sky BG) out better.

Thanks for your comments and edit Dave. I would say that your edit presents a different scene to the one that I wished to portray - namely a bleak and desolate landscape with the mountains as a bit of a bg feature, whereas I think your edit makes more play of the mountains. I found your comment about the clouds most interesting and I have done this edit to do more justice to those clouds:

Hi Tom, I like both your versions for different reasons. The pano crop for it's moodiness and desolate feel, with strong compositional element from the leading line of the clouds like Harold remarked. The larger version shows off those wonderful clouds as the main subject. I would consider cropping out the fence (?) in the FG completely.

Hi Tom, I like your repost! Added strength to the image with that dynamic sky!
