Hi again all,

This is one of the sisters of the boybird shown in our first post (http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/showthread.php?t=50493):

She is one of five girlbirds and has eleven brothers from the 3 nestings of our parent Blues this season.
We shoot them a lot, because we love them... and we hope you enjoy them too. But we're always trying to improve our photos of them, so any critiques or suggestions are appreciated. :)

Hi Kenn: Looks like you quickly mastered the technique of optimizing these little 200kb files as I compare this bluebird image to your first. Great shot! The composition, color and bokeh are all nice here. Bluebirds sure have a large eye, don't they? By the way, I live right down the road from you on a small farm in Union, MO. We have a lot of bluebirds here as well. You might enjoy the attached link I posted in Friends and Family.

Thanks for your encouraging comments Harshad,

Adult Eastern Bluebirds are: Length 18cm (7 in), Wingspan 33cm (13 in).
These juvies are @6 months old and fully grown. They attain their full size quite soon after fledging.

Hi Danny,

That's a very sweet group you captured there! We've counted as many as 17 in the yard at once here, but the most we've ever captured in a single frame was 9 ... (that was also not a gallery shot btw) :)
We have other friends near Union too btw, perhaps you could show us how it's done with the bigger guns somewhen.

Thanks also for your comments, very much appreciated.

Nice pose and details I would consider maybe taking some off the top and adding more canvas to the left that bg color is very complimenting.

Thanks for your comments and suggestion James,

I tend to fall into the 10x8, 8x10, 5x7, 16x9 std sizes crop rut... but I can envision what you're saying and will try it to see. I believe there was a bit of canvas remaining on the left before my crop. It would probably be good for us to try some free aspect ratios.

greatly appreciated,

Kenn
