This is the remainder of a WWII command bunker on top of the highest hill (called hill 88) in MArin Headlands, just north of San Francisco. On Pacific coast line in SF bay area lie many bunkers of batteries that once housed naval cannons and AAs to protect SF against a possible Japanese invasion in WWII. Never been used in action, they were soon decommissioned after the war and now are a part of GG national recreation area and provide interesting BG for photography.
This is what remains of the command post at the highest point, although it looks like HDR it was actually a single NEF file taking advantage of large pixels.
