Took a trip to the zoo in Seattle (Woodland Park) and played with some old equipment.
Image made with the "lowly" D2h, 80-400vr @250mm, f5.3, 1/180, iso640, AV mode +1/3ev
I still enjoy this camera if I don't need to crop much. Slight vignette added. I like the b/w version of this also.
Thanks for looking, comments and critiques appreciated.

Todd,

I bet this does look good in B&W and that might be a preferred presentation. Nice positioning of the head and I like the angle of the body (a diagonal leading line to ther head). Background subtle and unobtrusive.

Agree with Robert as well here Todd and would try to lighten both eyes if possible also. A bit more DOF would have got the rest of the head sharper too. Nice portrait nonetheless.

Todd, again I would agree totally with Marc's observations in relation to your image, however I might (if it was me) be tempted to tidy the BG in regard to the 'green blobs' of colour.

Like the pose and mood. Agree about trying to lighten the eyes a bit. I like the greenish bit in the BG but there's not enough of it to counteract the darker parts.
