Have been combing through the threads on sensor cleaning.
The Lens Pen, the one recommended here, has come highly recommended by pro friends as well. Yet, our camera manufacturers will never recommend using anything but a blower and the 'in camera' function to shake the dust from the sensor. I just got my D300 back from a thorough cleaning at Nikon (to the tune of $250) so, I want to do the right thing!
I have used the in camera sensor cleaning mechanism and I have used Sensor Swabs, but still couldn't get the filter clean, and therefore just decided to ship the camera back to Nikon for some thorough cleaning.
Is it better to set the 'clean sensor' function to operate when the camera is turned on and off and hope that keeps it cleaner longer?
I know I need to be more diligent when I change lenses, so that will help for sure.
Just wanted some feedback out there.
