Taken in Yellowstone NP after a 2 mi. hike with the Canon digital Rebel and Sigma 300-800mm (aka Pigma) lens, shot at 906mm with a Canon 1.4 teleconverter mounted on a Wimberly Tripod. ISO 200 in manual mode at f6.3 at 1/800th of a sec.
This lens earned it's nickname after this hike .............all for a glorified, although cute, hamster.
Did I mention there was snow? What was I thinking?
As always, comments appreciated.
Did add a little pallete to the bottom and a little crop off right side.

Very cute, I like the setting and details and would give it more space top and left.

I've always found these little critters to be adorable. You were lucky; he seems to be quite cooperative posing for you. Great sharpness and a cute setting. I'm with Axel - a little more on the top and left and it would be super.

I agree on the mentioned cropping. I really like the tonal values of the print, and the beautiful lichen, really sets it off. Nice image.
Best,

Very nice detail and light. Pretty hard to catch these guys sitting still for too long.

Looks to me like it was worth packing the lens! Great intimate portrait of one of these cute little guys.
