Photographed at Conowingo yesterday morning. The birds were not particularly active, at least not where they can be photographed but meeting Linda and Norm Dulak and Steve Berkowitz made up for it.

I like how the white of the head is framed perfectly against the dark plumage of the body. Good banking and HA's captured.

An excellent shot and composition that really captures the beauty of the eagle. And as one who was there beside you, I am impressed by your ability to capture a gem when the birds weren't doing much.

Axel - it was nice to meet you, too. This morning we were all licking our chops when the alarms and lights went off around 8 am. to let us know that water was going to be released from the dam which everyone knows sends the eagles into a feeding frenzy. Well, the frenzy never happened and it turned out to be a pretty slow morning. Two minutes after I packed up around 11, one eagle plucked a fish out 100 feet from where I had been standing for over 4 hours. Oh well! Steve

You didn't miss much, all the birds that went fishing were facing the other way, at least as long as I stayed.

Axel: Lovely diagonal image. I have to repeat what Norm said -- nice image when the birds weren't doing much. It was nice meeting you in person. Hope to see you in the field again.

Nice pose Axel, like the wing position and eye contact, would brighten the shadows a bit more. TFS
