I have not been here for a while but I did follow some threads that wound up here. Those threads were regarding the 7D which has had some reported AF/softness issues. I sent mine in for servicing and thought I would post an image to show what it can do.

Thank You. I think I am allowed only one image a day so tomorrow I will post a 100% crop of this birds eye from a side view.

Lovely portrait of a snowy owl, and a good exposure. Looks good but the web size is hard to judge. I am looking forward to the 100%

Ditto Aidan. Can't really tell on a post web size and does need 100%. Seen too many reports that the humble 20d outperforms this one to take any note yet. Why would you send in a new model for servicing? Same old Canon issues it seems.

Yes there were some issues with the 7D. It appears someone goofed between engineering and the production line and some of first batch bodies had improperly calibrated AF lens assemblies.

This is not the same as the 1D MK3. It was just a production issue. It's too bad and tough on Canon but these things happen. I worked in manufacturing for 33 years and I have seen these things happen especially on new model production runs. It's focusing is bang on. Best to date for me.
