Here's another one from my trip last month.

This is a 3 image HDR.

5d Mark II
24-105L @45mm
f/16
ISO 100

Processed with Photomatix Pro and CS 4. Used Nik Tools (enhance/warmth) to pop out the color a tad.

Hi Michael, Beautiful layered comp with soft filtered light. The foreground trees look a bit oversaturated for my taste but otherwise nicely handled.

I would have said the foreground trees looked over sharpened not over saturated. Especially the left lower side. All in all a nice balanced comp.

"smoky mountains"!!! looks nice. i miss it. looking at this more, i wonder what is to the right. if you panned right it would offset the valley and the large mtn in the bg while maybe bringing in more of the waterfall? the large mtn in the bg dominates my eye and these i'm used to seeing more layers in the smokies. all in all though, i like it.

Hey Michael,
I'm going with over sharpened too! I do like the way the undulations lead you through the image....I was going to suggest lightening the MG....but that will take away from the smoke look......maybe just a touch to balance it some with the FG.

I'm wondering if the color boost gave it the oversharpened look... I did not use any USM on it....

It doesn't seem over-sharpened to me. Sometimes that comes down to a difference in monitors.

Looks like my home turf. Were you by chance shooting from the Blue Ridge Parkway?

David, I shot this a few miles North of Panorama Point inside Shenandoah National Park, on Skyline Drive.
