Hi Folks

This peak is called Elphant Head hear in Green Valley, AZ. It is starting to crumble from its original formation, has lost its trunk, however, we will always call it the same.

I was standing on a hill awhile back a saw it bathed in the light of a beautiful sunset, so I took a photo of the peak, a photo of the sunset, and put it together with a photo I had taken of a Harris's Hawk from the area.

CC's always welome and appreciated

Nice vision and blending Gus. Good eye for the composition. Posting size seems a bit small to appreciate.

Hi Denise:

Was a notecard and I misplaced original, so I used DAP to make a larger painting

Best regards

Uncle Gus
BTW: Did you notice my greeting card repost? I like it better than original

I love the creation, Uncle Gus, not sure if I'd prefer the bill to be at 100% opacity over the mountain.

Gus, I will go check out your greeting card-Fabs makes a good point w/ the beak. It stands out more in the repost.

Gus well done..like the setting and the colors...Harris Hawk is one of my favourite raptors..ditto on the beak

Very powerful composition! I love it. The hawk seems to be watching out over his territory in a protective, dominant way. Another vote for making the tip of the beak less transparent.

As you all thought I should show the beak, here it is

A very nice job Gus! I prefer the repost. I've hiked to the base of the Head a few times in search of the elusive Black-capped Gnatcatcher. Didn't get the bird on those outings but your creation does bring back memories. Nice work!
